IRMCA presents the Carl D. Franks Award to Carl Applebaum

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented its prestigious 2016 Carl D. Franks Award to Carl Applebaum, Essroc Italcementi. The award recognizes outstanding efforts and ability in marketing ready mixed concrete in Indiana by a member of the Portland Cement Industry and was presented during the annual IRMCA Short Course Program. Established in 1985, the award is named in honor of Carl D. Franks, a native of Indiana who devoted his professional career to promoting concrete.

Applebaum is a Las Vegas, Nev. native and a graduate of the University of Southern California. He has been with Essroc Italcementi for 25 years and has been the vice president of sales for Essroc’s Western Region for the past 18 years.

“While others are extremely visible in their contributions to the IRMCA, Carl has been in the background supporting those of us who are on the front lines. His contributions to the industry have been numerous, always supporting the funding initiatives that are the lifeblood of the association. He has been an industry champion for as long as he has been here, working to help the industry grow,” said James W. Render Jr., senior manager of business development for Essroc.
