IRMCA presents Ben Woolard with the E.B. Rayburn, Jr. Award
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented Ben Woolard, Irving Materials Inc. (IMI), with its prestigious 2016 E.B. Rayburn, Jr. Award. The award was established to recognize outstanding leadership and innovation in marketing efforts in the ready mixed concrete industry in Indiana and was presented during the recent 2016 IRMCA Short Course Program.
Woolard has worked in the concrete industry for over 62 years. He began doing odd jobs for DeBolt Concrete in Richmond, Ind. at 14 years of age. He started his career with IMI managing their plant in Cambridge, Ind. and was soon managing five plants in the area. Woolard became IMI’s used equipment manager in 1993 and retired on November 30, 2013.
“I worked with and knew E. B. Rayburn Jr. If Rayburn has an award named after him, then there should be a Woolard award as well. Ben Woolard and E.B. Rayburn Jr. had a lot of the same characteristics: being thorough and caring about what they were doing,” said Pete Irving, Chairman of the Board, IMI.
IMI is a privately held, family-owned corporation with company headquarters in Greenfield, Indiana. Its four regional operation centers are located in Greenfield, Ind., Evansville, Ind., Louisville, Ky. and Nashville, Tenn.
