IRMCA Participates in the 2007 Indiana LTAP – Local Transportation EXPO
The 3rd Annual Local Transportation expo was held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in the Marsh Ag/Hort. Building and Midway Lot. The Local Transportation EXPO featured the return of the LTAP Equipment Expo, classroom sessions, outside demonstrations and the Indiana LTAP Snowplow Roadeo. IRMCA's Ashley Frantz helped judge in the Roadeo and IRMCA's Jerry Larson was a classroom presenter at the EXPO. There was over 40,000 square feet of road and street maintenance equipment and vendor booths, including the latest equipment and products.
 

National Mall Developer Testing Pervious Concrete
The Simon Property Group installed pervious concrete in September at its University Park Mall property in Mishawaka, Indiana.  The 10,000 square foot test section is being monitored by Simon for performance and durability, and will become a model for design as Simon looks for stormwater management methods and green building practices for its shopping centers and commercial properties.

Concrete Pavement Industry Invests in Indiana's Future
The Indiana Chapter – American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) announces formation and funding of the Applied Concrete Research Initiative (ACRI). Indiana's concrete pavement industry including contractors, cement manufacturers, ready mixed concrete suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and related suppliers has committed over $1.25 million over the next five years to fund two full-time research and education positions at Purdue University.

IRMCA, IN-ACPA and ACI go out to the ballpark for a fun evening of baseball and networking
More than 55 attendees came out for the annual Baseball Outing at the Indian's Victory field ballpark. Unfortunately, the Indians lost, but our group had a winning time with great food, good company and a glorious evening.

Freedom Field Playground Partnership
IRMCA is partnering on the first of its kind, all inclusive playground located in Columbus, IN. With Repp & Mundt, Inc. the Columbus, Indiana contractor, the IRMCA participated in placing a 28,000 square feet, 4" deep Pervious Concrete playground.

The IRMCA, 2005 Annual Short Course
The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association's annual Short Course was held December 12 - 14th at the downtown Indianapolis Marriott Hotel. With 194 attendees, we had our largest turnout ever recorded.

The Pathway to Water Quality Exihibit
Protecting Indiana's water and soil is important to all Hoosiers," remarked Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, who also serves as Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. "Whether you are a farmer, engineer, or developer in our largest cities or smallest rural communities, we need to be looking for innovative ways to conserve Indiana's soil and water resources. Habitat for Humanity Explores Innovative Construction Technology

The Hamilton County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, the Insulating Concrete Form Association (ICFA) and the Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) joined forces to build the non-profit's house using one of the fastest growing methods of residential construction - insulating concrete forms (ICFs).

Promotion Groups :
  Promotion groups meet on a regular basis in areas of the state, taking part in educational breakfasts, pervious demonstrations, planning and ACI testing.
   
Tech-Ed Committees :
  This group works to promote, problem solve and bring educational programs to members of the ready mix industry.
   
2008 IRMCA Short Course :
  IRMCA's Annual Short Course is typically held in Mid-December. Please check back for detailed information on the 2008 Short Course.
   
Pervious Certification:
  We are now offering the NRMCA Pervious Certification Training. Check the IRMCA Calendar for dates.
   
Environmental and Safety Compliance Committee :
  This group addresses industry environmental and regulatory issues along with safety compliance information.
   
Integrated Websites for Regional Promotion Groups :
  Concrete Indiana will showcase member projects, as well as provide you with other types of information.
   
Advocacy :
  Highway, Bridge, Local Road Funding: Our road and street partners at the Build Indiana Council (BIC) are working hard to expand the influence of the entire industry as they try to fix a serious shortfall in funding for roads and bridges.  In a special task force Pat Long of IN-ACPA serves on the committee that is responsible to recruit all sales people and others from our association that currently have (or would like to initiate) ongoing dialogue with local government officials.
