OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Presented to Atlee Warsaw, LTD
for the Beyer Medical Building
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2006 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on December 5, 2006 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.
In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial Projects - Tilt Up, one of three winning projects is the Beyer Medical Building. The Beyer Medical Building consists of a 20,000 square feet concrete tilt-up building. It is the first concrete tilt-up building to be erected in Warsaw, IN.
This 870 cubic yard concrete structure provides the owner with increased heating & cooling efficiency, and improved sound dampening from the nearby interstate. The tilt wall design includes an impressive tilt wall drive thru canopy, and features panels at varied heights. Also, a clean, smooth concrete finish on the outer face of the panels was achieved to accommodate the light coating of textured paint as opposed to the heavier textures usually associated with tilt wall panels. The tilt walls included many windows and intricate reveals that enhance the beauty of the finished product. Located right off of US 30, the high profile of this structure will surely attract more tilt-up construction to the region.
This project team for the Beyer Medical Building is the project owner: Atlee Warsaw, LTD, the Engineering firm: Buell Fryer McReynolds, the Architectural firm: Beaty & Partners, the General Contractor, Metropolitan Contracting company LTD, the Concrete Finisher: Heiman Construction, Inc., and the ready mix producer: Kuert Concrete.
IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers.
