OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

for the Blue Sky Casino Facility

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2006 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on December 5, 2006 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.

In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial Projects - Public/Institutional, one of three winning projects is The Blue Sky Casino Facility in the heart of French Lick, an 84,000 square foot casino, housing 1200 slot machines and 45 gaming tables. The team successfully replaced 44,000 square feet of the casino floor that called for a special steel fiber. By doing this they saved the owner money and time keeping the project on schedule.

There were many mixes used in this project, with a total of 8,361 Cubic Yards used in this project, 1083.5 cubic yards with steel fiber.

The project members for Blue Sky Casino Facility are the owners: Blue Sky Casino Properties, the engineering firm: Martin & Martin, the architectural firm: Worth Group, the General contractor: Lauth Construction LLC, the Concrete finisher: Toltest and the ready mix producer: IMI Southwest, Inc.

IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers.
