OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

for the Blue Sky Casino Parking Garage Project
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2006 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on December 5, 2006 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.
The winner in the Concrete Commercial & Industrial Projects: Cast-In-Place Category is the Blue Sky Casino Parking Garage in French Lick, Indiana. The project team for the Blue Sky Casino Parking Garage is the project owner: Blue Sky Casino Properties, the engineering firm: Martin & Martin, the architectural firm: Worth Group, the general contractor: Lauth Construction, LLC, the concrete finisher: F. A. Wilhem Construction Co., Inc. and the ready mix producer: IMI Southwest, Inc.
The Blue Sky Casino Parking Garage is a cast in place 796 space – four level parking garage. This garage houses the guest parking for the French Lick Hotel, Casino, and Events Center.
On the four level parking garage, the bottom floor is a 5000 PSI, and the three elevated decks are post tension 6000 PSI achieving 3000 PSI or better in 18 hours to allow for tensioning of the cables. Most deck pours averaged 500 cubic yards per pour. The total amount of concrete used was 8795 – ¼ cubic yards.
IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers.
