OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2006 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on December 5, 2006 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.

In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial Projects - Tilt Up, one of three winning projects is Cinergy Communications. The project team for Cinergy Communications is the owner/developer: Cinergy Communications, the Engineering firm: Structural Consultant Assoc., the Architectural firm: Tucker & Booker, Inc., the general contractor and concrete finisher: Empire Contractors, Inc., and the ready mix producer: Irving Materials, Inc.

This commercial office building totaling 30,210 square feet was completed in just eight months. Using the tilt-up system in combination with wet curing, it allowed the walls to be placed five days after pouring. The building is a great example of the possibilities of concrete. An exclusive IMI tilt-up mix was used for this building with a total of 2,225-1/2 cubic yards used in this project.

IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers.
