In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial, Industrial Projects, the winning project is the C & M Finepack Expansion located in the Fort Wayne area. Recipients included the following individuals and/or organizations: C & M Finepack, Springer Engineering, Michael Kinder and Sons and Erie Haven, Inc.

This was a fast track project. The owners needed an expansion to their facility quickly. Much of the buildings footprint was completed in two weeks.  A fast track schedule always brings unique situations to a job site. Any footing that was opened needed to be filled in with concrete that same day. Tight water cement ratios required extra admixtures to be used on the walls to achieve the slump desired. A quality control representative was present from the ready mix producer for every floor pour. The representative directed trucks, as well as conducted quality control tests. All trucks were checked for slump so that maximum slump requirements were not exceeded. Most of the floor was hand and vibratory screed with the use of standard finishing techniques and non-standard highway straight edge techniques. These techniques were used to achieve the customer's high floor flatness levels.
