OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Presented to the Folz Residence in Evansville, IN
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2006 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on December 5, 2006 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.
The Concrete Residential Projects - Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) Award went to the Folz Residence. The project team for the Folz project are the owners: Brad & Michelle Folz, the General Contractor and Concrete Finisher: F & F Concrete, and the Ready Mix Producer: Irving Materials, Inc.
The home is an ICF home with a finished basement and first floor to include radiant heat and is the only ICF home in the area to offer a lite deck first floor and is further complimented by its exterior decorative concrete. This home is a true showing of what amazing features can be offered with concrete. The home offers many variations of decorative concrete including stained, texture materials and integral colored concrete. The total amount of concrete used was 327-1/2 cubic yards.
As you would expect, the heating bills for this home are extremely low, their July 2006 energy bill was only $58.00 for this 6,400 sq. ft. home.
IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers.
