Recipients included the following individuals and/or organizations: City of Fort Wayne (Technical Services), DLZ in LLC, Key Concrete, Inc. and Erie Haven, Inc.
The city of Fort Wayne took the initiative to replace or repair some of the worst roads in the city’s infrastructure. Well over a hundred areas of roads have been repaired along with new handicap ramp areas for the blind and physically disabled. This contract exceeded 4000 cubic yards in the past year. The city of Fort Wayne chose concrete with some areas as small as 20 cubic yards to some more than 700 cubic yards - all were important to motorists, homeowners & public institutions. Work done well in these areas generate more work in the future. Traffic control and safety of the workers is always the top concern. Many roads were detoured, but only a short while and in many cases traffic was returned to the roads in just one to three days. Most concrete was placed by hand or vibratory screed board. |
