OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2007 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on December 11, 2007 at the Indianapolis East Marriott.

In the category of Concrete Residential Projects: Patterned/Decorative, Steve Hoss Builder won for their Home-a-Rama, located in Westfield.

This project team for the Home-A-Rama project is the Builder: Steve Hoss, the project owner/developer: Pools of Fun, the Decorative Color Consultant: Jobsite Supply, the Concrete Finisher: King’s Crew Concrete and the Ready Mix Producer: Builder’s Concrete.

The most unique feature of this project is that it was successfully completed through the joint efforts of four companies working together from beginning to end. It was also a good example of how a quality decorative concrete job can add lasting beauty to a personal residence, as well as serve the practical need for a pool deck to surround the pool area and provide access from the home to the pool. Color used helped to pull the color scheme of the home & pool deck together and enhance the overall appearance of the property. Thirty cubic yards was used of a stamped pattern with integral color, antique release agent, with clear sealer and a shark grip anti-slip additive was added to the sealer. This was accomplished with one pour session.

IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers.
