The newly constructed 'Lake House' sits on Lake Monroe in the Hoosier National Forest It provided an interesting challenge not only to the contractor, but the Ready Mix Producer as well. The project consisted of 7,000 sq ft of stamped and colored concrete to surround the front of the house and also the pool deck. Eleven individual pours were needed to complete the job, which required ninety yards of integrally colored concrete.
With the timing of this project starting in late May and finishing in July, consistency of the colored concrete mix was crucial. The temperature of the days averaging over 80 degrees with the job located forty-five minutes from the nearest batch plant was the biggest hurdle for us, as well as for the contractor. Eight yard loads were typically poured at the time, giving the contractor fifty minutes to unload and stamp. The detail of the stamp pattern made this project event more difficult. With the random flagstone pattern used for the project, it is very critical to keep the pattern flowing from pour to pour. The detail of this project is incredible.
