OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Presented to Purdue University for the Neil Armstrong Millennium
Engineering Building in West Lafayette, Indiana
The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2007 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on December 11, 2007 at the Indianapolis East Marriott.
In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial Projects: Cast-in-Place Frame Projects, Purdue University won for their Neil Armstrong Millennium Engineering Building, located in West Lafayette.
The team for this project is: Purdue University, the Engineering firm: Fink Roberts & Petrie, Inc., The architectural firm, Ratio Architects, the general contractor: Smoot Construction, the Concrete finisher: Baker Concrete Construction and the Ready Mix Producer: Irving Materials, Inc.
This is an all cast-in-place concrete building with many concrete architectural designs throughout. This is a building on Purdue’s campus with a famous name like Neil Armstrong and people from everywhere will come to see this wonderful building. Approximately 22,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place and decorative concrete were used on this project.
IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers. |
