In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial - Tilt Up, one of the winning projects was the Performance Food Group located in the Kendallville, IN area. Recipients included the following individuals and/or organizations: Performance Food Group, Manous Consulting & Design, J.W. Frierson Contractors, Inc., Graber & Graber Contractors, Inc., and Erie Haven, Inc.

The Performance Foods Group in Kendallville is the newest facility in an ever expanding industrial park. Over 1400 cubic yards of performance concrete was placed by pump into the tilt-up panels placed during the winter months. The concrete was protected with blankets and extra cement and accelerators and were used to speed up curing and tilt-up time. The parking area was placed by conventional and pump methods. All the 5200 plus cubic yards of concrete was thickened to withstand the hundreds of semi-trucks this facility receives monthly. The facility itself used a double pour method of concrete – foam-concrete for the refrigerated section of the facility; all placed by pump method and reinforced with shake on hardeners.

This project used a total of 13,773 cubic yards that included more than 1400 cubic yards of pumped tilt-up walls, 5200 plus cubic yards of pumped parking area, 4200 plus cubic yards of pumped & truck placed integral cooled floor system.
