In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial, one of the winning projects was the Sagamore Golf Clubhouse located in the Noblesville area. Recipients included the following individuals and/or organizations: Sagamore Dev. LLC, Ratio Architects, Wurster Construction Co., Inc., Concrete Connections, Inc., and Irving Materials, Inc.
The Sagamore development sits on 400 acres in Noblesville and features the only Jack Nicklaus signature course in Central Indiana. The entire facility includes a golf course, family activity center and pool house, zero-depth pool, championship tennis courts and golf clubhouse. The clubhouse was designed with a lower level to house locker rooms, a snack bar, and cart and club storage. This necessitated concrete walls installed at multilevel grades. Also, the walls were thickened to hold the additional bearing loads of the steel I-beams and massive wood timbers. Colored and stamped concrete was used on the upstairs landings and patios to match the interior color choices. The 19,000 square foot lodge-style clubhouse features a poured wall basement foundation and structural steel construction on two levels. |
