| OUTSTANDING CONCRETE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Tichenor Residence The Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA) presented the 2009 Outstanding Concrete Achievement Awards for projects in the State of Indiana on January 19, 2010 at the Indianapolis Marriott North at Keystone at the Crossing in Indianapolis, Indiana. In the category of Concrete Residential Projects: Patterned/Decorative, one of the winners is the Jon and Marta Tichenor Residence. The project team is the Tichenors, Lindsey Concrete and the ready mix producer: Irving Materials, Inc. The finisher designed and worked with the home owner to install and grade the elevation to utilize the back yard space to its potential, with a clean, uncluttered look. The concrete was poured in the late afternoon so that finishers could work the next day doing digging and gradework. It took some art to get the coloring and stamping design to match the stone on the home in order to give it a nice, uniform look. The job took two months from start to finish and used a total of 85 cubic yards of concrete. IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers. |
