In the category of Concrete Commercial & Industrial, Public/Institutional, one of the winning projects is the Warsaw Community High School Football Complex. Recipients include the following individuals and/or organizations: Warsaw Community Schools, Schmidt & Associates, CCI, PHend & Brown and Aggregate Industries.
The Warsaw Community High School Athletic Field construction began as the need to locate the IHSAA 5 A school’s football field onto the main campus. Since the high school was opened in 1990, the football, band and track facilities had remained at the former high school. The opportunity to build the new complex has now been realized in conjunction with the performing arts center addition to the school.
The main entrance welcomes guests through columns to the ticket office. This area will see 6,000 to 8,000 fans for each event. The need for durable concrete in this area is critical. The inlaid radius has broken up the already unique shape of the area. Concrete will continue to provide a bright and cheery atmosphere to this area. The concrete will remain cool under pressure as fans wait to purchase their tickets. Sixty-five cubic yards of concrete were used for this project. |
