This custom post and beam style home, utilizes an ICF basement with 27 corners, including a safe room under the garage floor, demonstrating the versatility of this product. The basement floor has radiant heat and Self Consolidated Concrete (SCC) was used for ease of placement. Rhode Island Red colored concrete was used on the garage floor, with a hard trowled finish. The circular drive was broomed and over 4000 square feet of seamless textured concrete was used on the walkout patio and sidewalks. On October 6th, 2006, the basement floor was poured using SCC with Ultra 180, over radiant heat tubing. Fifty plus members of the Greater Wabash Valley Home Builders Association watched the 2100 square foot floor placed and finished in 40 minutes – all while enjoying a cookout at the site. The home earned a first place ranking in its division with the Greater Wabash Valley Parade of Homes. The partners have had a significant increase in IMIX Spectra Color sales due to the exposure of this product on this project.
IRMCA presents these awards to recognize extensive application or imaginative use of concrete; and to honor the accomplishments of project owners, architects, engineers, contractors, owners and ready mixed concrete producers. |
