Another IRMCA Fore Scholars Golf Outing is in the books!
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, members and friends of the Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association came together for a day of golf, networking, friendly competition, and support for the future of the concrete industry.
The annual Fore Scholars Golf Outing is about much more than what happens on the course. Funds raised through the event support the IRMCA Scholarship Program, helping Indiana college students pursuing education and careers connected to concrete, construction, and engineering.
This year's outing featured plenty of competition along with individual contests, team awards, and some memorable golf attire.

The team finished at the top of this year's field to claim the 1st Place Team title.

Merritt Contracting also had another reason to celebrate during the outing, with Abby Zeedyk earning one of this year's individual contest awards.

The team competition wasn't the only opportunity to take home an award. Golfers competed throughout the course in several individual challenges testing distance, accuracy, and putting.

The Concrete Putter Contest offered golfers another opportunity to compete while putting an industry inspired twist on a traditional golf challenge.

The competition may make Fore Scholars fun, but the purpose behind the event makes it especially important to IRMCA.
Proceeds from the annual IRMCA Fore Scholars Golf Outing fund the IRMCA Scholarship Program, helping support students preparing for careers in construction, engineering, and concrete.
In 2026, that support reached Purdue University Northwest seniors Frank Nicksic and Izat Hamed.
Both students are already combining their education with hands on experience in the concrete industry, demonstrating the connection between education, industry involvement, and the future concrete workforce.
Frank has gained experience with Ozinga, including work in Quality Control, while Izat joined Smith Ready Mix as a summer intern and has continued working part time while completing his Construction Management education.
Their paths into concrete are different, but both demonstrate why investing in students and creating opportunities to experience the industry matters.
