Men's Health Month 2025

June is Men's Health Month: It's Time to Close the Empathy Gap

At IRMCA, we care deeply about the well-being of our members, their teams, and the families who support them. June is a dedicated time to raise awareness about the physical and mental health challenges men face, and to take meaningful steps toward better care.

This year's national Men's Health Month theme is, "Closing the Empathy Gap". It is more than a slogan; it's a call to action.

The Empathy Gap highlights the lack of attention, support, and resources surrounding men's health issues. On average, men die six years earlier than women, more often from preventable conditions as well. Prostate and testicular cancers still receive far less funding and visibility than other diseases. And while suicide rates among men remain alarmingly high, many mental health conversations continue to overlook how men experience and express emotional struggles.

Our industry is built on strength, but strength doesn't mean silence.

Whether you're leading a crew, driving a mixer, managing a business, or raising a family, your health matters. Prioritizing your well-being is not just a personal responsibility, it's a professional one. Healthy dads, brothers, and coworkers help shape healthy communities.

  • Schedule your overdue physical or cancer screening.
  • Start a real conversation with a friend, coworker, or family member about mental health.
  • Encourage someone you care about to reach out for support.
  • Take advantage of your company’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), if available.

This June, stand up for the men in our lives and acknowledge the challenges they face. Let’s take concrete steps toward better health, support, and understanding. Closing the gap starts with showing we care.

If you or someone you know is struggling emotionally, call the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 to talk with someone right now.
