Honoring EMS Week 2025

Building Strong Foundations for Our Emergency Responders

May 18-24, 2025

Every day, Indiana’s EMS professionals answer the call to protect lives, often in the most difficult and unpredictable conditions. During National EMS Week, we take time to honor their commitment, sacrifice, and lifesaving work across our state.

This year, the Indiana EMS Association (IEMSA) will kick off the week with its 8th annual Run With Shears event on Saturday, May 17, 2025. This is a community fundraiser dedicated to building a permanent memorial for EMS professionals who have lost their lives in the line of duty. It's a powerful reminder of the risks these first responders face and the legacy they leave behind.

At IRMCA, we believe that one of the most impactful ways we can support our EMS professionals is by investing in the spaces where they live, work, and rest between calls. Concrete-built EMS facilities and firehouses offer unmatched performance and safety benefits for those on the front lines:

  • Storm Resilience protecting personnel and critical equipment during severe Indiana weather events
  • Fire Resistance helping contain incidents before they escalate and protecting both people and property
  • Energy Efficiency supporting year-round comfort and reduces operational costs
  • Sound Insulation helping readiness between calls with better recovery conditions
  • Lower Insurance Premiums adds long-term financial value for municipalities and departments

These buildings are more than structures, they are hubs of preparedness, teamwork, and community care. As we celebrate EMS Week, we encourage everyone in the concrete and construction industry to recognize how our work contributes to a stronger, safer future for those who serve.

To all the EMTs, paramedics, and emergency responders in Indiana: Thank you for all you do!
